Boat Building News

My good friend and colleague, and a giant of the boating world, has passed at age 90.  I will miss her terribly. The entire boating community owes her a large debt of gratitude for her significant contributions to boating safety.  She is not only one of the most remarkable women I have met in my lifetime, she is one of the most remarkable persons I have had the privilege to know and work with. God Bless her and may she rest in peace knowing the vital contributions she has made to her fellow man.

Bolling Fortson Douglas passed away on August 3, 2016 at age 90 at Cannon Wood Village in Tiger GA She was born on July 7, 1926 to a life on the water. Bolling was a remarkable woman, who lived her years to the fullest, accomplishing many firsts as a woman in the marine industry.
Contributions may be made in her name to the ABYC Foundation or the U. S. Coast Guard Mutual Assistance Fund.
