Boat Building News

The US Coast Guard has published a request for comments on the Table of Outboard Weights used by manufacturers to calculate the amount of flotation needed for outboard powered boats under 20 feet in length. The current table has not been updated since 1984.  The Coast Guard is proposing to use the table published by the American Boat And Yacht Council (ABYC) in 2012.  See the following link for the notice, and the procedure to submit comments. Comments must be submitted by July 5, 2017.
